List of the highest mountains in West Java

Who doesn’t know the beauty of the mountains in West Java?   Its beauty can really stun people. For example, West Java is one of the provinces of Indonesia. The land contours in this area were much higher when compared to several other provinces on the island of Java.

Due to the existence of many mountains, it is not surprising that up to this point many people choose West Java as a holiday destination. The plateau in this province is about 1000-2000 meters above sea level.

Aside from being tall, it turns out that natural beauty is one of the highlighted things. Not surprisingly, there are also many climbers who make the mountains in West Java one of their destinations.

There are many mountains in West Java, but some of you may be curious where the highest plains are. Maybe it’s because there are too many types, so he didn’t get it right. No need to worry, here are some of the names of the highest mountains in the West Java area.

Mount Chiremay in West Java is the highest

The first highest mountain is Chiremay. So Chiremay is located in Kuningan, Chirebone and Majalengka. The height of Chiremay can reach 3078 meters above sea level and is one of the active volcanoes. The peak is on the lip of the crater, where it is quite delicate and wide.

Climbers can use four official hiking trails. Each of them, of course, has its own complexities and conveniences. There are so many beauties offered by Ciremai. Starting from the natural scenery to the state that is still beautiful.

Well, for climbers you need to understand which track is the easiest to use, the most difficult. Don’t take risks later because you don’t know the terrain being used correctly. So, the most famous road on Chiremai is the ascent of Bapa Tere and is one of the most unique mountain climbs on the island of Java.

Chiremay really ranks number one as the highest mountain in West Java.   As one of the highest mountains, it turns out that in Chiremay you can see the flowers of Edelweiss when you are at the top. Of course, this makes Chiremay even more beautiful.

In addition to Edelweiss, at the foot of the mountain there are also various historical places for Indonesia. Even during the colonial period, Belkamu found that the Linggarjati meeting building was located at the foot of Chiremay. This further adds to the appeal to visitors who are interested in the beauty of Chiremay in West Java.

Pangrango The second highest mountain in West Java

The next plateau to be found in west Java is Pangrango. So, Pangrango has a height of about 3019 meters above sea level, you can find it on the routes Bogor, Sukabumi and Chianjur.

It turns out that Pangrango is part of the Gede Pangrango National Park area and is indeed guarded. There is the Mandalavanga Valley, which is always the goal of tourists. In this valley you will see the beautiful expanse of Edelweiss.

Being a tourist area where it was officially announced in 1980, Pangrango was often visited by tourists, especially climbers. Although many people like to climb, it turns out that the first person to set foot on the summit of Pangrango was not an Indonesian, but a German, C.G.C. Reinwardt or the founder of the Bogor Botanical Garden in 1819.

In 1977, Pangrango was successfully declared a biofirst reserve by UNESCO, and this made its name more widely known to tourists. Many climbers want to see the beauty of the Mandawanga Valley and the spread of Edelweiss on this plateau. Including being part of the highest mountain in West Java and occupying position number two, it turns out that Pangrango managed to steal the attention of many visitors.

Many people outside of Java think that Pangrango and Gede are one part, although this is wrong because they are also opposite to each other. Pangrango is much higher compared to Mount Gede. But because the place is too close, it is often considered a single name.

Gunung Gedeh Has Surya Kenkan Square

Well, as mentioned earlier, there’s Mount Gede. So this plateau is still in the area of the Gede -Pangrango National Park. This mountain has a height of about 2,958 meters above sea level and is located opposite Pangrango.

There are many interesting things to do on the Gede Plateau where there are several craters that are still active. Craters: Vadon Crater, Lanang Crater, Ratu Crater, and a new crater. Well, there’s an interesting place that always steals visitors’ attention when it comes to Mount Gede, namely Surya Kenchan Square.

Do not think that surya Kenchan square is the same as in some large cities or districts. On this square you will be even more amazed by the view of the Edelweiss tree, where there are quite a lot of them. But despite this, climbers are advised not to just take Edelweiss, because it is also protected.

In addition to the many thickets of Edelweiss on the mountains of western Java, it turns out that Surya Kenchan Square is also often used as one of the camp  places for climbers, so you can enjoy the expanses of Edelweiss and feel the feeling of being in a beautiful place.

Because it’s one of the areas of Gunung Gede Pangrango National Park, so there’s a lot of fauna here where it’s really protected. For example, The Javanese Gibbon, Lutung Surili, Leopard, Biul Slentek and many others. So the beauty of the mountain in West Java is still very well protected.

Mount Tsikurai in West Java Exotic to watch the sunrise

In addition, there is also Mount Tsikurai, which has an altitude of 2,821 meters above sea level. This plateau is located in the districts of Chikajung, Bayongbong and Dayeu Manggung. The form of this tsicurai is completely conical and inactive. When it is at the top, it can know that the area is flat and not too large. ButI’m not worried because there’s an  awakening post.

Many climbers also came to Chikurai to enjoy the sunrise.   So many climbers say that the sunrise view in this one place is really much more beautiful compared to the peson at the top of Papandayan, but the beauty isn’t okay, because the top of Chikurai is pretty dirty.

Chikurai is the fourth highest mountain list in West Java, but  unfortunately the summit is really dirty due to vandalism from climbers, where they are less responsible. There are so many doodles you can find when you’re at the top of the Chikurai Plateau.

If you want to climb, you can take the Ciledug route, which is somewhat safer and more official. If from Bandung, it is actually very easy to travel by public transport. You can also continue by public transport to be able to get to the door for rock climbing.

However, as a climber, it is strongly advised not to commit vandalism or debris. It is much better to maintain the beauty of Chikurai while enjoying the natural scenery alone.

As one of the provinces with highlands, it is not surprising that West Java has many mountains. Some of them have a beautiful charm that makes tourists move up.

Even some of them have tourists outside the province who want to enjoy the beauty of West Java. You can also try visiting one of the mountains in West Java to experience the charm of its beauty.
